UCOMMERCE NEXT GEN 10.5.1 - Refined User Experience

Bug fixes here, there and everywhere

This update might not introduce any "major" features, but it's an important step forward nonetheless. We've focused on refining the user experience by addressing several smaller bugs. These fixes, though individually minor, collectively enhance the stability and performance of Ucommerce Next Gen. After all, big features are only as good as the foundation they’re built on. As the saying goes, "Many a mickle makes a muckle." Every improvement, no matter how small, contributes to a better overall experience for all parts.

What's new in 10.5.1?

Breaking Changes

  • Property Splitting Character Alignment: Managing properties across your database is now more consistent than ever. We've standardized the splitting characters to ; and | across Ucommerce. This means a more uniform approach to property management, reducing complexity in your custom logic. NB: If you’re currently using , for splitting properties, a quick adjustment to ; will keep everything running smoothly.

  • API Controller Request Model: Our backoffice API controllers have been redefined to enhance accuracy and clarity. All parameters that previously referred to a GUID are now correctly labeled as "Guid." This change ensures better consistency in your code and reduces the chances of confusion or errors, making your integration work more straightforward. NB: If you are running a Ucommerce solution and use the backoffice controllers, this change may have an impact on your project. If you have any questions regarding this, please reach out below.

Improvements

  • Grid View Enhancement: Your preferred way of viewing data matters. With our latest update, the new grid view for price groups retains your custom column orders. This allows you to organize pricing data in a way that best suits your workflow, saving you time and effort.

  • Improved User Information Formatting: The "modified by" and "created by" details in sub-menus are now displayed with greater clarity, giving you quick and easy access to important user information.

  • Enhanced Order Validation Messages: Navigating order management just got simpler. We’ve improved our order validation messages, providing clearer guidance when a user isn't allowed to create an order or when there’s an issue with adding an order line.

Bug Fixes

  • Currency Update Fix: We've resolved an issue where currency updates on a base price group weren't correctly applied to child price groups. This fix ensures that your currency settings are accurately reflected across all related price groups.

  • Catalog Criterion Dropdown Error: An error in the catalog criterion dropdown has been fixed, improving your experience when working with catalog settings.

  • Currency ISO Code Validation: Unnecessary validations for the currency ISO code in the backoffice have been removed, simplifying the currency management process.

  • Price Group Update Issue: A previous issue where the price group in the products list wouldn’t update properly has been corrected, ensuring your price group information is always up to date.

  • Migration Table Name Length Issue: We've fixed a migration issue where certain table names exceeded the allowed length, ensuring that your data remains compatible and fully functional during migrations.

  • Custom Category Picker Registration: We've resolved an issue that prevented proper registration via the definitions system, allowing for smoother customization and integration. NB: this is only for those of you who use using custom category pickers.
