Highlights from the Ucommerce Partner Summit 2020

Two weeks ago we held our annual Partner Summit together with partners from all around the world. With each summit, we have built towards a bigger purpose - to evolve our partnerships further. Therefore, this year we have taken this goal and turned it into the summit's main theme.

Although we switched to an online format this year, we were able to engage and have insightful talks as well as introduce what we have been working on for the past year. We wanted to make the Ucommerce Partner Summit experience relevant to everyone. Therefore, we divided the summit into three different tracks covering tech and bizz, each with their own unique focus, and we held an open panel discussion together with two very smart people Henning Wraae, UX Director and CEO at Wølund & Wraae and Adam Peter Nielsen, CTO at Novicell - both Ucommerce Powerhouses. 

Before sharing the main takeaways with you, we would like to thank everyone who participated in the summit and we look forward to seeing you again next year! We are very thankful for the feedback we received from all of you during the Q&A session and the partner panel sessions. As highlighted before, the strategic choices that we make are centered around the input we receive from our partners and users.

Delivering on our promises

We received a lot of great feedback from our partners during the 2019 Partner Summit based on which we have developed a set of goals and promises to be implemented in 2020. Following  more than 15,000 hours invested in improving the Ucommerce platform, we are thrilled to say that we have delivered on our promises. We have strengthened the core product, upgraded the platform, and extended our team to create a better support system for our partners.

At the same time, we want to acknowledge that there is still a lot of work that needs to be done for fulfilling our vision of a fantastic product supported by fantastic service with fantastic people at its core. 

Therefore, in this year’s Partner Summit, we focused on highlighting the improvements we implemented in the past year and outlining what we want to bring more focus to in our journey going forward.

Better, faster, and simpler workflows

We have launched Ucommerce  9.3. in the effort of creating better, faster, and simpler workflows. The new version features a simplified code language for a better developer experience, more intuitive UI, and bug fixes. If you have not yet migrated to Ucommerce 9.0, but planning to do so, we recommend having a look at our how-to guide in our documentation site.

After receiving lots of valuable feedback, we also have the new improved version of Uccelerate (Umbraco accelerator) coming up!  Release date to be announced.

Elastic search will be part of the upcoming Ucommerce 9.4 release, which we expect to have available later this year or at the beginning of 2021. We will come back with updates.

Modernization of UI

We want to enable our partners to further extend our platform for varied scenarios across B2C and B2B and complete the modernization of UI. We will continue working on a full transition of Kondo to the new UI throughout 2021. We will keep you updated on the progress along the way!

Updated demo store for Umbraco

You can now find an updated demo store for Umbraco, Avenue Clothing 2,  showcasing Ucommerce capabilities in a brand new look and feel. It is available for you to go and check it out right here: Avenue Clothing 2.

More than 15,000 hours invested in the platform 

Following more than 15,000 hours we have invested in making the Ucommerce platform highly robust, flexible, and extendable, we now have a strong foundation for growing and strengthening our position. As part of this plan, we will continue to scale up our already efficient customer success and developer teams. 

Strengthening the community through closer collaboration

Our main focus is on quality. By getting closer to our most important partners we hope to contribute more to delivering high-quality solutions together while ensuring higher profitability for our partners. Furthermore, we will also contribute more through joint marketing activities together with partners and supporting the sales process.
We have recapped our new 3-tier Partner Program that aims to ensure a more dedicated collaboration with our top tier partners, enabling them to deliver high-quality solutions and contribute to their revenue stream. Generally, we intend to be more present in our ecosystem and facilitate an open dialogue both on the commercial and tech sides.

Knowledge sharing as an essential driver for innovation

During our open panel discussion, we gained great insights from some of our Powerhouse Partners. Henning Wraae, UX Director and CEO at Wølund & Wraae and Adam Peter Nielsen, CTO at Novicell shared why they see Ucommerce as a good fit for their business and they discussed the role of digital commerce in the short-term future. More Confident. More Determined. Still Humble. 

Compared to where we were last year, we have grown to be more confident and determined. We can see that what we are doing is paying off and we are making great improvements both in terms of the platform and the collaboration with our top-tier partners. Our partners are the heart of both our business and the product strategy and we want to enable them to create a better business.

However, we are still humble. We are still far from being where we want to be. One of the reasons why, is because we have huge ambitions. Both in terms of our product and in terms of our close partnerships that are essential for us to thrive in our global ecosystem. We are entering an exciting and promising future, and we are thrilled that our partners want to be a part of that!
